The Historic 1908 Courthouse serves as the Art & Cultural Center of Grayson County, Virginia. The Foundation is a private non-profit corporation whose mission is to preserve the building and make it available to the people of Grayson County and the surrounding areas. Since the Grayson County government moved into their new quarters in the late 1970’s the 1908 Courthouse has been restored and now houses the Crossroads Museum, the Baldwin Auditorium, the Grayson County Historical Society, and the Grayson County Tourism Office, as well as offices housing businesses and other non-profit organizations. The 1908 Courthouse is open Monday through Friday, with normal hours of 10-4.
You can also get married at the Courthouse! Couples can actually wed in the old courtroom upstairs. There is an elevator, and the Baldwin Auditorium (old courtroom) will seat around 125 guests. The building is beautiful with an elegant spiral staircase and original hardwood floors and pressed tin ceilings. If the weather permits, you can get married outside in the lovely gazebo. There is a small kitchen if couples choose to have the reception on site.
