If you need help deciding where to go, please stop by the Historic 1908 Courthouse in Independence for directions, a printed guide, road maps and information from the Tourism Office.

Multiple artists will be set up at the 1908 Courthouse in Independence on Saturday from 10-4. The Tourism Office will be open to help you plan your route and give out additional information about the Tour and the Sunday Sing & Pick Concert.

Explore Grayson County at your own pace–whether you head West towards the Mountains or East towards the River! Or try your hand at making it to all 16 Stops. Let us know if you do and we’ll send you a prize!

Western Grayson

This stop right outside of Independence offers adventurers the chance to purchase fall flowers, pumpkins and gourds as well as kids’ activities!

Meet the gorgeous Scottish Highland Cattle living in the Highlands of Virginia. You’ll have a chance to pet and groom these fluffy cows at this stop. Bring your camera!

Pick fresh, organically grown raspberries by the New River for a pre-lunch snack!

Visit one of Grayson’s Century Farms, a family-owned and operated Dairy Farm in Baywood. Pet a calf, go to storytime (great for kids) and learn about the tough 24/7 job of working a Dairy.

Journey on to learn about life on a 19th Century Grayson County Farm! Stories of the Stitch, a celebration of quilting, happens alongside Heritage Day and the Ag & Art Adventure here at Matthews. John Alexander of Alexander Broom & Crafts, this year’s Ag & Art Honoree, will be set up selling his wares and demonstrating the art of broom-making.

Head out to Elk Creek to visit another century farm, Summerfield Farm. Here you’ll learn about the new 1000 tree apple orchard and the techniques involved in growing large scale apples with a small environmental footprint.

Stone Farm is home to Bob and Theresa Lazo. Bob is an accomplished painter while Theresa practices the art of glassworking. Tour their beautiful farm and purchase some art from their home studios.
