Grayson Highlands State Park is home to two fabulous attractions: Virginia's highest mountain peak known as Mt. Rogers and the Wild Ponies, a small herd that roam freely on these protected lands. In addition to numerous horse trails, picnic areas and camping areas, the park offers a visitor's center and museum.

The Iron Mountain Back Country Horsemen of Virginia is a volunteer organization that brings trail riders and other trail users together for the good of trails. The IMBCH partners with the Forest Service and Land Owners to keep trails open and safe. You can contact them at (276) 744-7363.

Rocky Hollow Horse Camp is located in Western Grayson County and has easy access to the trails of the highlands (JNF, Grayson Highlands) right from the campsite. They offer camping and cabins.
Hungry Horse East is located in Eastern Grayson County and provides access to the Virginia Highlands Horse Trail and Jefferson National Forest. Located in Ivanhoe, Virginia they are great source for horse trails, camping, cabins and other horse amenities.
